Welcome
Derwent Valley Field & Game Club Inc was established in 1970 by members of the New Norfolk community with an interest in shooting the clay target discipline of sporting clays and was one of the first Sporting Clay ranges in Tasmania. The club is situated on the picturesque banks of the Derwent river at 1065 Boyer Road,New Norfolk.
Our licensed range is located 7km from New Norfolk on Boyer Rd and covers 16 acres on the banks of the Derwent River. Today, the club supports the shooting disciplines of Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays and English Sporting and is a member of Sporting Clays Australia.
Most of our competition shoots are Sporting Clay, in this event targets are various sizes and colours and are thrown in singles or pairs using the terrain to mimic true field shooting. Clay target shooting, especially Sporting Clays is a truly challenging and rewarding sport.
Our goal is to continue to build the profile of our great sport and grow participation.
Our Association offers its members many pathways to enjoy Sporting Clays: from those looking for an informal afternoon of recreation with familly and friends at the club, to National, State and Club competitions, through to elite sportsmen and women representing their country on the international stage.
All members are welcome to attend the committee meeting held at the club on the second Thursday of the month at 7.30pm.
New members are always welcome and practice days are open for all prospective members to come along and test their skills. A loan Firearm for non licensed participants can be arranged.
Welcome to Season 2020 Our Club has now been operating for some forty seven years in a lovely location overlooking the Derwent River one of Tasmania's largest freshwater rivers.
The majority of competition events throughout this year will be sporting clays and Compak, a compact version of sporting clays. Practice days will include Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays.
